In 2005, out of 150 world participants, we received this prestigious award as recognition of our responsible tourism development program in The Haciendas and FHMM. Thank to this accomplishment, as of 2006 we’re part of the jury.

Award granted during the ITB, World Tourism Fair in Berlin, and awarded by Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung e.V. (Institute for Tourism and Development), Germany. FHMM and The Haciendas received the award in March 2007 for best practices in social responsibility.
  World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO)
FHMM has been accepted as a member organization of the WFTO. The projects that are developed under the institution’s framework meet worldwide fair trade standards.

  RedE America
FFHM became a member of the network in 2007.  RedEAmerica promotes the strengthening of collective action to benefit the marginalized population in Latin America.

Fundación Haciendas del Mundo Maya (FHMM) was awarded with the 2015 prize “Transformers”. This award recognizes projects of business organizations that improve grassroots development in Latin America. It is promoted by RedEAmérica –a network of business foundations and companies engaged to qualify and expand the entrepreneurial activity in order to boost sustainable development in rural communities. The award was received for the FHMM’s project "Integral Community Development in Santa Rosa de Lima, Maxcanu” –the three winners were Mexico, Brazil and Dominican Republic.

  World Savers Award
FHMM along with The Haciendas received the "World Savers Award 2009" from Condé Nast for its social and environmental commitment, especially for contributing to alleviate poverty.

  Travel + Leisure
FHMM and The Haciendas received the "Global Vision 2010" award from Travel + Leisure for their contributions to artisanal and architectural revival.

  Rainforest Alliance
FHMM along with The Haciendas joined in 2010 the Rainforest Alliance Sustainable Tourism program, with the objective to supervise good practices in business, social and environmental management.

From 2009 to 2012 The Haciendas, along with FHMM, were certified in Earthcheck's "Sustainable Tourism Program" for implementing good social and environmental practices.
